About

Hello! So you want to know more about me, huh? Well I can tell you that I am a happily married thirty-something living in Syracuse, NY with a passion for traveling and seeing the world, but a limited budget to do so. So far in my life I’ve been lucky enough to have some amazing experiences around the world, and I want to continue to do so as much as humanly possible. For years I worked for an English language program at a private university – a job I love. I got to meet students from all over the world and learn more than I could have ever imagined. The stories and knowledge fed my craving to travel and experience their cultures firsthand. Through this blog, I hope to be able to share some of my experiences, both locally and afar, with you. And in the process, maybe you will be inspired to travel the world too. You don’t need a huge bank account, just a huge imagination.

The Beginning

The inspiration for this project comes from a lecture I attended on March 6th, 2017 at Syracuse University. Brandon Stanton, creator of Humans of New York, gave a talk about how he got where he is today. For years I’d been wanting to find a way to make my hobbies into something more, something that could impact other people’s lives. When Brandon talked about the importance of using your time wisely and pursuing your dreams, it finally hit home for me. So I’ve decided to start this blog and see where it goes. Maybe it will inspire somebody to take a life-changing journey; or it will introduce new cultures to a young child; maybe it will show you another side of something in your own backyard. Whatever this blog accomplishes and wherever it leads me down my path, I look forward to it all.

Where am I now?

I recently left my job at the university to start working as the Community Manager for Perlu, an influencer networking platform. Now I spend my days helping bloggers and influencers connect with each other to grow and succeed!

Important tidbit about the blog…

As an important thing to note – all of my opinions on this blog are my own. All photos are my own (unless otherwise noted). My goal is to provide you with authentic photos and experiences. I won’t write about places I haven’t visited, and in most cases, I have not been compensated for my writing. I’m honored to start being recognized by local businesses and tourism companies, so any experiences that received compensation will be marked as such. But stay assured, I will still give you my genuine thoughts! All those experiences will also be documented on my collaborations page.
