Everyone in and around the path of totality for tomorrow’s eclipse has been going all out with plans for how to celebrate. So it’s no surprise that several local breweries, wineries, and restaurants have eclipse-themed drinks planned for you to enjoy while watching it get dark in the daytime. Stock up on these libations to bring with you tomorrow while you scope out the perfect spot.
Eclipse-themed Beers, Wines, and Spirits 🌒
New York State breweries have come out in full force with their themed beers. Of course, many of these special eclipse-themed drinks are dark stouts and porters, emanating the darkness that will come during totality. Most of these brews are special one-time-only beers, so make sure to get them while you can.
Black Button Distilling
Dark Sky Gin
Award-winning distillery Black Button created a special gin just for the eclipse. Dark Sky Gin starts with traditional botanicals and adds unique elements of jasmine dragon pearls, lemon balm, sunchoke, and butterfly pea flower.

This special-edition Belgian Stout features notes of roasted coffee, dark chocolate and exotic spices.

Lunkenheimer Craft Brewing Company

Black Kolsch-Style Ale
5.2% ABV
All the flavors of Lunkenheimer’s standard kolsch, with all the colors of a total eclipse – pure black.

Prison City Brewing
Dark in the Daytime
American Stout
7.5% ABV
Black in color with a tan-color foam, this stout signifies the eclipse in both name and color. Roasty, chocolate notes are balanced with American hops for a full-bodied beer.

Prison City will also be pouring at the Finger Lakes Welcome Center for the Taste NY Eclipse event from 2 to 6.
Rohrbach + Strangebird + Three Heads
These three Rochester breweries joined forces to create a series of eclipse-themed beers. One for each phase of the eclipse: before totality, totality, and after.

5.4% ABV
Dark yellow in color, this aged helles has notes of vanilla, bread, honey, white pepper, and oak.

Dark in color, this Czech version of Rohrbach’s dark lager creates a sweeter flavor with more malts, with notes of caramel, sweet bread, and milk chocolate.

What better hops to use for a hazy India Pale Ale than Australian Eclipse? These hops provide the juicy, citrus flavors of mandarin oranges.
Cosmic Rosé

Part of Three Brothers’ Women of Distinction wines, this eclipse-themed special features flavors of orange marmalade, cherry blossom, and honeysuckle. The rosé is a blend of 90% Barbera and 10% Sauvignon Blanc.
