Sports Bars in Oswego County Offer Specials to Celebrate Game Days

Last updated on January 2, 2025.

When Autumn comes and the weather starts to cool, Sundays turn from golf and barbecues to football game days. Many folks flock to the nearest sports bar to cheer on their favorite football teams. As a result, many sports bars in Oswego, Fulton, and Phoenix offer game day specials. What’s on the menu? A lot of wings and beer.

Sports Bars in Oswego, NY

The Press Box

This Oswego sports bar is a staple in the college town, celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. Sports memorabilia and large-screen tvs fill the walls at the pub. The Press Box‘s menu features the standard salads, sandwiches, and pizzas. But their best known for the burgers.

The Press Box is a proud Buffalo Bills bar and celebrates with game day specials when the Bills are playing. Their “tailgate party” special features sausages, hot dogs, and beer discounts.

Duskees Sports Bar & Grill

A couple years ago I was on a search for the best wings in Central new York. One of the places that was recommended? at Duskees Sports Bar & Grill. So I grabbed a couple of friends on a Friday afternoon to go check it out.

Inside the walls were filled with Syracuse sports murals and New York Yankees decor, much like my dorm room in college. So I felt right at home. The bar features a variety of mass-produced and locally-made beers alongside craft cocktails. All at great prices. And if you can’t decide what you want, they offer beer flights.

One of my favorite things at Duskees was that the chalkboard has the date when the draft lines were last cleaned.

Duskees offers an impressive 22 different options for sauces and rubs. They are known for their “Goat Sauce”, a mix of multiple sauces. Some of my favorites were the Old Bay Dry Rub and the Bourbon Glaze.

Whichever flavor you choose, you can’t go wrong. Because the wings at Duskees definitely live up to the hype. Both the glaze and the dry rub packed a punch of flavor. The wings were crispy on the outside, yet tender and moist inside.

Game Days at Duskees

Like any good sports bar, Duskees has specials for game days – of all kinds. Basketball, baseball, football… Their most popular special is a burger and a beer. $9 for a domestic, $10 for a draft craft, or $11 for a craft can. Wing specials vary between $4 off or $.60 per wing – and yes, boneless is an option.

Lock 1 Distillery

Monday Night Football at Lock 1 Distillery

I first visited Lock 1 Distillery in Phoenix almost 6 years ago, and every time I visit I find another reason to love it more. Their most recent addition? Monday Night Football specials. Like most sports bars in Oswego County, Lock 1 is a proud Syracuse University and Buffalo Bills bar. And for the 2024-2025 season, they started opening up on Monday nights to cheer on the NFL teams.

A variety of specials feature the distillery’s famous wood-fired pizza, cocktails, and chicken wings. Plus, any time a customer orders one of the MNF specials, they get entered to win a cooler filled with goodies at the end of the season!

Chicken Wings at Lock 1

Chicken wings are available in orders of 10+, and there are a variety of classic and unique flavors. Here are the ones I’ve tried.

🌶️🧀 BUFFALO BLEU- Their most popular flavor, it’s slightly spicy yet creamy, with the blue cheese not overpowering the flavor.

🍯 HOT HONEY – A mix of Frank’s red hot and honey.

🧄🧀 GARLIC PARM – A classic. Much more cheesier than expected with more parmesan than garlic.

🫐🌶️ BLUEBERRY JALAPEÑO- Jammy and sweet with subtle spice at the end. It’s not overly spicy; it’s all about the flavor.

🧂 SALT & PEPPER – One of my favorite flavors. These could use a better balance with more pepper and less salt. With that, they’d be perfect.

🌶️ INFERNO – Using Lock 1’s signature inferno whiskey flavors, this sauce reminds you of a cinnamon red hot candy. It definitely packs a punch of heat, yet manages to hold a lot of flavor as well.

While not available on Mondays, if you visit Lock 1 on another night, be sure to try the Brussel Crowe salad. It is AMAZING and easily one of the best things I ate all year. It’s a mix of romaine, roasted brussel sprouts, craisins, cherry tomatoes, chopped bacon, olive oil, balsamic, and parmesan. Holy. The mixture of warm and cold with the sweet and savory notes… I could eat this salad every day.

Sports Bars in Fulton, NY

Muskies Bar

Another great spot for game day food & drinks is at Muskie’s Bar in Fulton. This inconspicuous bar can have you fooled from the outside, as it blends in with the other houses along 1st Street. But inside? Inside you’ll find welcoming staff and surprisingly great food for surprisingly low prices.

While Muskie’s is truly a townie bar, outsiders are still welcomed with open arms. And they aren’t afraid to share their secret: this bar serves some great food. And has some of the cheapest drinks you’ll find in the area. A can of beer or a well mixed drink costs between $3 and $5.

Muskie’s Bar was another spot folks recommended to me for great wings. And yet again, the recommendations didn’t disappoint. The menu offers 17 different wing flavors, including some great options like Mesquite Bacon BBQ and Garlic Pepper Dry Rub.

Game Day Specials at Muskies

As if the prices at Muskies weren’t already low enough, they drop even lower for game days. Cans of domestic beer are just $2.50, making buckets of 6 cans just $15. Get 10 wings for just $10, and personal pan pizzas are $6.
