Syracuse
Yes, I’m a travel blogger. Yes, I love to travel around the world and my own country. But you don’t always need to go far to experience great things! I was born and raised in Syracuse, NY. There are plenty of Syracuse highlights to share!
No, when I say I live in New York, I do not mean New York City. This isn’t Manhattan, folks! There is so much more to New York than the city. Mountains, lakes, waterfalls, farmland, wineries… it’s amazing. Where I live is smack-dab in the middle of the state. That’s why we host the New York State Fair every year! Home of the Syracuse Orange, there are so many things that make this area great! And I’m here to share them all with you.
Go check out all my Syracuse highlights below! Any event that I’ve written about will have a link to that post so you can learn more about it. You can find even more information on the official Syracuse tourism website, Visit Syracuse. If there are any you think I’m missing, send me a message to let me know!

Syracuse Sports
Syracuse Crunch – The local hockey team always puts up a good fight and it’s pretty inexpensive to attend! Plus, the team often makes it to playoffs, and that’s always fun to attend!
Syracuse Mets – For years our baseball team has been the “Chiefs” or the “Skychiefs”, but new for 2019 are the Syracuse Mets! Games happen all the time during the summer and different weeknights mean different deals at the ball park (like $1 hot dogs on Thursdays!) Catch a game on a Friday or Saturday night to see fireworks at the end of the ninth.
Syracuse Orange – Spend a day on the Syracuse University campus & watch a basketball or football game!
Nearby Towns & Villages
Cazenovia – Wine, beer, farmlands, apple picking, history, and more.
Chittenango – Follow the yellow brick road to the hometown of Frank L. Baum, a beautiful waterfall, and the best privately owned zoo around.
Cicero – The best sledding hill and some great hidden gems for food & drink.
Liverpool – The parkway, Lights on the Lake, and the hub of Syracuse recreational sports.
Manlius – A swan pond, ice cream, and a great craft beer bar!
North Syracuse – Some of my favorite restaurants around.
Oswego – Gorgeous sunsets and the home of the best fireworks display around.
